Why Easter Still Changes Everything
There are moments in history that change the course of everything. For Christians, Easter isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s the culmination of a divine plan that began not at Calvary, but in a garden.
The Garden That Started It All
Genesis 2 and 3 give us the first glimpse of humanity's story. God created a perfect world, filled it with beauty, and placed Adam and Eve in the center of it all—in a garden called Eden. There were trees for food, rivers for life, and purpose in their work. Most importantly, there was daily communion with God Himself.
But then came the question: "Did God really say...?" The serpent didn't attack with force but with doubt. And with one bite from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin entered the world, severing the connection between God and humanity.
It wasn’t just disobedience that led to the fall. It was distrust.
A Longing for What Was Lost
From that moment, every heart has carried the ache of separation. We crave purpose. We search for truth. We fight to find identity. All because we were cut off from the Tree of Life. But even in their failure, God made a promise—that a Savior would come to crush the serpent and restore what had been lost.
The Cross Between Two Trees
Fast forward to Calvary. Jesus, the Son of God, was nailed to a tree—a cross. Positioned between two criminals, between the justice of God and the mercy of God, Jesus became the bridge back to Eden. Back to the Tree of Life.
What began with disobedience in a garden was undone through obedience in a garden tomb.
On Friday, it looked like sin had won. But on Sunday, the grave was empty, and Jesus stood victorious.
Resurrection Power in Real Life
Easter isn’t about religion. It’s about restoration. Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good; He came to bring dead people to life.
We still hear the whisper: "Did God really say...?" We still feel the pull to rely on our own understanding. But the resurrection is God’s shout to the world: "I always had a plan. I always had you in mind. Come home."
Through Jesus, we are no longer defined by the fall. We are invited into resurrection life—a life of trust, surrender, and connection to the One who made us.
Come Back to the Tree of Life
Maybe you’ve been living from the wrong tree. Maybe your trust has been in your own plans, logic, or strength. Easter is the reminder that you don’t have to live that way anymore. The cross is your invitation. The empty tomb is your assurance.
There is fruit again. There is life again. There is hope again.
Because Jesus lives.
And that changes everything.
